Burnt Larch Shepherd Hut Now A Personal Retreat And Source Of Income.

I was lucky enough to return to this beautiful site just out side the North Cornwall Seaside town of Looe this October to visit one of our Timeless Spaces bespoke Lowen Shepherd Huts.

Jenny, the new owner of this beautiful hut was kind enough to show me around and describe how she has used the Shepherd Hut since it’s delivery.

Set in magnificent Cornish countryside with panoramic views across the valley, the warmth of the burnt larch cladding and fern green exterior woodwork, mimic the colours of nature perfectly. Nestled into the hillside, it takes about 2 minutes to start feeling a sense of calm that I’m always happy to enjoy!

Inside, Jenny has continued to mimic the natural colours of the surrounding countryside with a palette of creams and greens. The kitchenette doors and storage space doors under the double bed are a very dark green, which complements the solid wood flooring and unit details beautifully. Additional touches, which were requested during the design process, such as the partition between the bed and living space, with it’s 45 degree detailing, look gorgeous. The Charnwood log burner adds to the comfortable atmosphere and makes the Shepherd Hut cosy all year round.

Since taking delivery of her Shepherd Hut Jenny has started to let it, providing a small additional income but this hasn’t been her main use of this lovely space. With a slight tendancy towards a nomadic lifestyle she has been delighted to move into the shepherd hut for various amounts of time, enjoying the tranquility of simplified but still very comfortable living and simply let out her main residence.

Although this was not the expected use for the Shepherd Hut, I can’t say I am surprised by Jenny’s enthusiasm to claim this living space as her own, and it certainly offers yet another use for our beautiful Shepherd Huts!
