Are Shepherd Huts Cosy in the Winter?

Each of our Shepherd Huts, in fact all our huts, are hand made and fully insulated using highly efficient products. In fact they are heated so well that you often need no more than body heat to warm them. However they do come complete with an electrics and therefore a small heater can be used. Some people opt for small woodburner, especially if they are using the hut for letting, as not only does it add to the huts appeal during the obvious holiday period, it also entices many winter visitors. Although you may find you need to open a window or door so you don’t overheat!

Surrounded by your well made and insulated hut. Snuggled up by the fire. Comfy in bed or relaxing in the seating area. Looking out over the winter landscape. Listening to the gentle patter of rain on the roof ( also insulated) or the wind rustling through the trees. It’s hard not to feel cosy!

Even when using the hut as an office, it’s hard not to feel cosy and secure in your warm dry hut, as the winter continues on without you outside!

Artist Heather enjoys watching the ocean from her work bench, even in the darkest depths of winter. Her shepherd hut is purely an art studio, so she is often out there alone or sometimes with a friend, and enjoys the intensity of the rugged Atlantic from the peaceful calm of her hut.
