Seaside Summer in North Cornwall
Summer with a Shepherd Hut
The UK summer holidays have arrived – long days, slower starts, and a welcome chance to get outside, enjoy time with the family, and soak up everything this season brings.
Here in North Cornwall, we’re lucky to call this landscape home. It’s where Timeless Spaces is based, and where we find constant inspiration – from coast to countryside. Whether you’re visiting or local, we’ve pulled together a few of our favourite ways to make the most of the summer months.
1. Wander the coastal path around Pentire point, Polzeath
Start the day on the coast path around Pentire Point. Beginning in Polzeath, this circular walk delivers fresh air, wide horizons and beautiful sea views. You might spot seals, dolphins, or kestrels overhead.

2. Sunset supper at The Beach Hut, Watergate Bay
The Beach Hut in Watergate Bay is all about great food and amazing views. As the sun dips, settle in with a seasonal menu and take in the golden light on the water. It’s relaxed, coastal living at its best.
3. Set sail with Wavehunters from Rock
Set off from Rock harbour and see the coast from a different angle with a Wavehunters sea safari. These boat trips offer the chance to spot dolphins and seabirds.
4. Potter through Port Isaac’s pretty streets
This postcard-perfect fishing village is known for its narrow lanes, whitewashed cottages, and sea shanties. Explore the harbour, stop for crab sandwiches, and enjoy the character of this little corner of the north coast.

5. Warm up and wind down at Harlyn
Over at Harlyn Bay, Saunas by the Sea have created a truly memorable experience – wood-fired saunas looking straight out to sea. It’s the perfect combination: warmth, salt air, and the buzz of a cold-water swim. And, if you’ve ever dreamt of having your own garden sauna, we can build one just for you.

6. Step into myth and legend at Tintagel Castle
Clinging to the cliffs and brimming with history, Tintagel Castle is the stuff of legends. Walk across the dramatic footbridge, take in the views, and imagine the stories this place has seen.
