Crafting with Purpose, Passion, and People at the Core
At Timeless Spaces, we don’t just build extraordinary shepherd huts - we craft places for people to truly live. Whether it’s a peaceful garden office, a handcrafted sauna, or a cosy retreat in nature, everything we create is made with care, precision, and a deep understanding of what makes a space feel special.
But behind the craftsmanship are the values that drive us. And at the heart of it all is Jake, the founder of Timeless Spaces and Timeless Construction. His ethos shapes every decision we make, from the way we build to the way we treat our customers and our team.
With a background in heritage construction, we have a deep respect for traditional techniques - the kind that stand the test of time. But we also embrace new ideas, modern efficiencies, and sustainable building practices. It’s this balance that allows us to create spaces that are not only beautiful but also practical, durable, and designed for the future.
Beth & Jake
A business built on honesty, authenticity, and meaning
For Jake, business isn’t just about making things; it’s about making a difference. “I hope people will associate us with honesty, authenticity, meaningfulness.”
Every hut, garden room, and bespoke build is a reflection of this. We don’t cut corners. We don’t compromise on quality. And we make sure every customer walks away with something they love - because that’s what truly matters.
Jake often talks about love as the core of how he leads Timeless Spaces. “It sounds cliché, but honestly, it is love. How can I love my customer? It means being honest and doing a good job. How can I love the team? It means encouraging them but also being open about areas where they can grow. And none of it is possible if the business isn’t thriving - so part of leading with love is ensuring we build something sustainable for everyone involved.”
This people-first approach extends to how we support and nurture the crafts and tradespeople we work with. We want everyone at Timeless Spaces to grow - to refine their skills, to take on new challenges, and to become the best version of themselves.
The seasons of business
Jake often reflects on the rhythm of business like the rhythm of the seasons. “Winter is the time for ploughing and sowing,” he says. “You put in the hard work, often in the toughest conditions, trusting that the effort will bear fruit in time.”
This principle has never felt truer than today. Exactly 20 years ago, almost to the day, Jake was standing in the pouring rain, painstakingly cleaning the cobbled front of a Cornish cottage - a project for a customer who had trusted Timeless Construction with their home. Fast forward two decades, and Jake is back at the same place, this time planning the installation of a beautiful, handcrafted sauna from Timeless Spaces.
“It’s quite moving for me,” Jake admits. “When you nurture and invest in your customers, when you put in the time and care, those relationships become real. They last. It’s not just business; it’s about trust, connection, and growth - on both sides.”
For Jake, moments like these are a reminder that the seeds sown years ago, through hard work, honesty, and care, continue to grow, shaping the story of Timeless Spaces in ways that are both humbling and inspiring.
Success beyond the bottom line
For many businesses, success is measured in numbers. For Jake, it’s about something deeper. “For me, success is about making a positive impact - starting with my wife and kids and extending to the wider community. My faith guides the way I work and lead, shaping how I treat people and the kind of business we build. If I can be known for living out those values with integrity and purpose, that’s enough.”
That belief is woven into everything we do. We want to build more than just beautiful spaces - we want to build a business that brings people together, that inspires creativity, and that leaves a lasting impact.
Balancing business and family
Running a business isn’t easy. But for Jake, family always comes first. “It is hard. I try to switch off in the evenings… Mealtimes as a family are important. I try to have one 24-hour stint off per week - so Saturday after lunch to Sunday after lunch or something similar. But also, my business enables me to provide for my family. So when I’m at work, I’m thinking of them and doing it for them.”
With this balance in mind, Timeless Spaces is about creating a life well lived - not just for Jake and his family, but for every customer who chooses one of our handmade spaces to be part of their own story.
The lesson that guides it all
If Jake could pass down one key lesson about business, it would be this: “Doing what is good and kind and running a successful business don’t have to be at odds. Doing what is right can lead to success, and success can be used for good.”
And that’s what we strive for at Timeless Spaces every single day. Beautiful spaces, built with heart. A team that is always growing. And a business that stands for something more.
That’s Timeless. That’s who we are.
